St. Francis Chapel & City Ministry Center and the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province established The Weybosset Street Community Center in 1995. It is a non-profit, non-denominational community charitable outreach organization committed to providing medical and social welfare programming. Weybosset Street Community Center is organized exclusively for charitable and/or educational purposes and is qualified under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Programs currently operating under Weybosset Street Community Center includes the St. Francis Food Center, St. Francis Cares Wellness Center and the Bread & Blessings Sandwich Program.
