National Shrine of
St. Anthony and St. Jude
Novenas
The Franciscans faithfully offer perpetual novenas to our two beloved saints. On every Tuesday, at all of the Masses said here at the Shrine, we offer our Perpetual Novena to Saint Jude. On every Thursday, we conclude each Mass with our Perpetual Novena to Saint Anthony.
Through these novenas the Franciscans unite all those who have pledged their devotion to God, to pray for all those who are in need, and for all who have asked for the prayers of the community.
You, too, may make your requests for prayers in honor of these very powerful saints. Simply write or e-mail your special intentions to Fr. Frank.

Perpetual Novena to St. Anthony
O holy St. Anthony,
we come to invoke your help,
confident of experiencing your goodness and your power,
the consolation of so many people.
Pray for us to the God of mercies.
In our name, speak to Him
that we may obtain the particular graces we need.
Lord have mercy.
True followers of St. Francis,
help us to imitate your life
and work for God and for our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Put into our hearts the flame of your love
that we may love our merciful father in heaven
and our neighbors as ourselves.
Lord have mercy.

St. Anthony, pray that we may fulfill the will of our heavenly Father,
and live the way Jesus shows us in the Gospels.
Be a guide for us this day,
that we may recognize the opportunities God gives us
to be selfless and not selfish.
Assist us in keeping the promises we made at our baptism.
Help us to obtain the grace to walk in the light of faith,
and to proclaim that faith by the way we live.
Guide our devotion
so that we may live with you the Gospel of Christ
and grow with you in His love.

Perpetual Novena to Saint Jude
In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, cousin of Christ,
may God heed my call for help:
Lord, hear my prayer.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, friend of Christ,
may I always rely upon the loving mercy of God
in all my difficulties:
Lord, hear my prayer.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, Apostle of Christ,
may the Holy Spirit listen favorably to my urgent prayers
and fill me with hope:
Lord, hear my prayer.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, martyr of Christ,
may my love of God increase in the midst of my troubles:
Lord, hear my prayer.
Through the intercession of St. Jude, priest of Christ,
may the blessings I ask of God descend upon me
and remain always:
Lord, hear my prayer.
